While you play, a “history” is recorded of all your actions, where you were at certain times, etc.
The idea is that you can travel forward/backward in time to do crazy tactical maneuvers and win the game.
Possible specific ways to do this:
- Lay cards in sequence (left->right). Things that happen “at the same time” are laid in the other direction (top->bottom). So it’s obvious what the timeline is. Now you can always go back to a previous card.
- OR; Make this a One Paper Game, which automatically records what you did and when. (Because you write it on the board, and those writings are permanent, you always get a history of all you’ve done.)
- When you switch a timeline, or create a parallel one, or destroy one … you can just change papers! Grab a new paper, remove the old, fold/cut the conflicting part, whatever.
