Crimicatchers

A simple card/party game about trying to catch the best piles of cards.

Setup

Deal all players a unique cage card. Start!

Gameplay

Played over multiple rounds. (4 or 5?)

Each round …

  • Starts with X piles in the center of the table. (One faceup/facedown card per pile, in a row or grid.)
  • Players get 4 new cards in their hand.

Turn

Add one of your hand cards to an open pile (facedown).

Each player has a cage card. When you decide to play it, put it faceup on an open pile. The pile is now closed, but it is yours! You’re out of this round.

End of Round

The round continues until everyone has claimed a pile. Now grab it and look at the content. Decide which cards you want to keep in your hand and which you want to score permanently.

Objective

Cards scored give you points (depending on the card). Highest score wins.

Verdict

Alternative names welcome.

ISSUES/TO DO:

  • Simple and should work, but it’s a bit TOO barebones now.
  • Just need to invent different card types: ways to check what’s inside current piles, ways to meddle with score, etcetera
