Train Ambush

There’s this randomized track on the table. Just a set of different tiles with slight variation/different properties?

A train with some wagons starts at the beginning and slowly moves towards the end during the game.

Now comes the kicker:

  • Players can put secret cargo in those weagons; they’ll score that if the cargo reaches the end of the track (at the end of the game).
  • Other players can spend resources/actions to “ambush”. To steal mysterious cargo others have placed in weagons.
  • This can be specific wagons (powerful ambush) or a range (weaker ambush). A way to add “gradations” is …
    • A failed ambush means EVERYONE gets to see what was inside that car.
    • A semi-successful ambush means only YOU get to see what’s inside, but don’t GET IT.
    • A successful ambush means you secretly get all the cargo inside, you’re happy.

This has this really nice aspect of needing to get your most valuable cards stowed away somewhere and protected … but protect it too much and it will actually attract ambushes!
