What if there was only ever one generation?
That generation lives their entire life, then they all die, and the next generation is born from the seeds they sowed/whatever they did and left behind.
Maybe you can literally “get pregnant” now … but the child will only be born next generation.
This is a VERY INTERESTING way for biology or a world to work and can open up deep stories about intergenerational trauma, importance of having parents, generations, etc.
