MacTheft

Below are three ideas I had for a game jam with the theme “Theft”. I ended up not participating at all due to lack of time.

MacTheft!

An online multiplayer game. Based on the famous Shakespearean story of MacBeth.

A small group of players is MacBeth and his guards. They start in the castle in the center. They shine a light, patrol the corridors, etcetera.

The other players start as trees in the forest around the castle.

  • They try to move towards the castle unseen.
  • They have a SINGLE decision point: to throw off their tree disguise. This makes them faster, of course, but also easier to spot.
  • If any of them reach MacBeth, they kill him and win.
  • If all players are caught, or time runs out, MacBeth + Guards win.

To “lure guards away” …

  • Guards need to touch other players to eliminate them.
  • Special elements are hidden in the castle. They give great bonuses to the killers + some of them disadvantage the guards and force them away.
    • For example, LIGHT SWITCH. When grabbed, all lights turn off and guards are practically blind. They need to walk away to switch on the light again.

That’s it? Anything else/better?

Don’t Steal From Me

A (cozy?) shop simulator where you must catch all the customers trying to steal from you.

Maybe take a literal picture. Maybe just click on them while they do it.

Suidice Squad (LOVE THE NAME)

Try to break into a place. But dice rolls determine how far you move, whether you pick a lock, how far a guard can see, etcetera.

So you’d get a randomly generated building layout with treasures and guards scattered around. You roll dice and then have to assign (drag with mouse) the results to the different pieces, such that you steal as much as possible.
