Gold Rush

An incremental game themed after the famous “Gold Rush”. Upgrades are Bigger shovels, better detection methods, bigger map area, deeper digging, less breaking, train tracks to haul it away, protection against bandits, etc.

We could make it more unique by giving it two parts. One digging in earth; One trying to EXTRACT Gold particles from that dirt.

Below are two more ideas that could be merged to provide more unique gameplay.

You May Dig/Mine Now.

A world where you need to get permission to gather any resources. Furthermore, resources are cleanly separated into regions, and you need to prove your worth / buy a pass to be allowed into the next region which has more precious resources for you to gather. A kind of class system / “rags-to-riches” but focused on rare resources and their zones.

A Treasure Was Promised

A digging game that’s top-down but with multiple layers.

Something about “A Treasure Was Promised” or “Journey To The Center Of The Earth”.

  • The further down you get, also, the hotter it gets and the more your tools melt and stuff.
  • Maybe this melting (due to earth’s core) is halfway through—you beat the game by coming out on the other side of the Earth again!

Somewhat inspired by that old game of Motherload, and perhaps Digseum.

If we do Motherload, from the side, it’s more of an extraction/roguelike thingy right?
