An incremental/clicker about collecting fruit from trees. Obviously, you can only reach the low-hanging ones at first, but this reach grows over time.
Specifically,
- You only see the bottom.
- The rest is hidden/fog of war type stuff.
- You must collect fruit to show more ( = dispel the fog around that place)
- There’s a clear line on the screen. Anything below is “free” (instant grab, max reward, no penalty). The further you go above it, the longer it takes to collect that thing, and the more you’re penalized by losing time (or some other “curse” that makes the attempt end)
- Or you literally CAN’T go back down!
- Your goal is to harvest the FRUIT OF MAGIC or whatever aaaaaalll the way at the top.
Each type of fruit is its own currency. So, while playing, you also have to tactically take into account which ones you actually need to buy that upgrade you wanted.
I almost made this idea as a kind of joke about how incremental games quickly became saturated with “low-hanging fruit”. But then I thought I have way more interesting ideas and I think the parody isn’t so strong/wouldn’t be perceived very positively anyway.
MIGHT COMBINE WITH THIS GAME IDEA:
“Go Coconuts!”
- You click to make coconuts fall down from trees, which are collected at the bottom.
- Upgrade to get more trees, faster cutting, bigger range, bigger basket at the bottom to catch them, special types of coconuts, etcetera.
We can merge this by making some fruit fall down (instead of being instantly grabbed), adding an extra layer of actually being able to catch it.
Similarly, we might have upgrades that introduce really weird tools (like a pincer/two sticks to bring together) for grabbing stuff.
