A multiplayer game, but played with a kind of turns or “phases”.
First, the “haunters” play. They move around, do stuff, etc.
When they’re done, they give the controller to the other team (players? seekers? residents?).
Now … it plays back all the movements and actions that it recorded from the HAUNTERS.
Hopefully, they did some smart things and predicted what the seekers would try to do. Predicted where they would try to go, so they could set up a scary trap or lock the right door.
Now, in the second phase, the seekers try to NOT fall into traps set by the HAUNTERS before, not get attacked, not get too scared, etcetera.
Couple of nice things here.
- First of all, because actual PLAYERS do this, their actions look intelligent and purposeful as the seekers play.
- Secondly, it allows playing with large groups, as you simply pass the controller/gamepad halfway.
- Thirdly, this is very unique, but should not be too hard to code and make work.
