A Wice Business Plan

A local multiplayer game about running an ice cream business in some hot deserted area, where all players are cars trying to keep the ice cool and bring it to the right place in time.

Introduction / Blurb

They all laughed at us. “An ice cream parlour in a deserted rainforest?! Why don’t you just burn your money now!”

Well, who’s laughing now?! I hired the best ice cream people—that’s you—to make this business plan work. We’ll be crossing through the rainforest, the desert, the jungle, anywhere there’s space for us.

All you need to do, is deliver the ice cream. And keep it cold. And collect the ingredients. And change it into nice shapes and colors. And get electricity to keep everything working.

Really, it’s simply a game about delivering ice cream.

Input?

Every player is a car. All you can do is steer and perhaps press a button to interact with your current location.

Map?

It does not use a grid. Locations are scattered randomly, and there’s a circle that glows if you’re on it.

Otherwise, there’s random trees, shrubs, decorations, etc.

IDEA: There are no roads. Instead, during the game, roads appear at places where people have driven their cars a lot.

Mechanics?

Obviously, it’s all about ice.

There will be orders for ice, randomly popping up.
- Follow-up idea => you need to market yourself. For example, by painting your car with promos and driving past other people.
You will need to keep the ice cool. For this, you’ll need coolers and electricity to keep them functioning.
- Follow-up idea => you need to generate that electricity yourself. I mean, there should be water in the jungle, loads of sun, stuff to burn, you should be fine.
You can move faster by dropping ice, making the ground slippery. However, it also makes the car harder to control.
- Follow-up idea => you can also just freeze existing water?
Ingredients are retrieved from the jungle itself. (For example, the vanilla plant, and fruits, grow in the jungle.)

What’s unique? The fact that all players are a car. And that you need to do all parts of the ice-making process yourself, in a unique environment.
