Desktop/offline/hands-off idle.
Basically, it generates this massive map. From time to time, you have enough power/money/strength to …
Click the (grid-based) terrain to dig
Obviously you can upgrade the size of the rectangle with which you click, the power it applies to each square, etcetera.
Over time, you’ll discover bones, gold, secrets, etcetera that lead to currency and hints about where the treasure is. (These hints don’t need to be great. They can just be “near a palm tree”, and you see there are 5 possible spots, and you can just try the next one each day.)
Until, after a while, you should be able to know where the treasure is AND be strong enough to dig that deep and find it.
Which is how you beat the game :)
This could be combined with actually managing a ship and sailing from island to island, and shooting up pirates. It could be a “test” for my bigger game.
- The pirates will ignore each other OR fight on their own …
- … but you can ACTIVELY aim your cannons and play to increase the chances of winning any encounter
(More of an auto-battler then in that regard.)
I really like this idea. I’ve just never made a desktop idle before, and this is a pretty weird/ambitious/experimental one too, so I estimated there was a low chance I’d actually make it.
