No-Button Game

This is just a joke video game idea I once wanted to submit to a game jam, but didn’t.

It just starts, checks the time, and tells you if you’ve won. It might also tell the next time period you can win. (Does it check your wins?)

So opening = the only interaction.

Might post this on itch.io with a sarcastic bit about …

The past decennium saw games becoming simpler and simpler. Everything is so easy anyone can instantly play. Everything is one button.

Well, lemme tell ya, I have something better: a no button game.

It’s obviously the next step in this revolution. This is what games were meant to be. We are finally at the pinnacle of game design.

Start the game. It tells you if you’ve won or lost. Repeat.

I’m eagerly awaiting my “Game of the Year” award. A Nobel Prize would do, too.

(All jokes aside, I was trying to come up with the absolute simplest game I could imagine. This is what came out of that brainstorm session. Let’s pretend this is some deep philosophical statement against making games too simple, or something like that.)
