I was inspired by Plasma Dome. It’s a kind of tower defense game where you protect your city at the bottom, and enemies simply come at you from anywhere else (left, top, right side—from “the sky”)
The idea of a tower-defense game like this is genius.
- No fixed paths for enemies.
- Easy city building and placement at the bottom of the screen.
- Lots of creative possibilities in weapons. (Such as one that shoots straight up, one that puts drones in the sky who will automatically chase enemies, etcetera.)
I’d like to combine that with another idea of mine: You have one button. When you press it, you swing a bat.
The swing is identical each time. Same distance, same arc, same speed.
It’s about recognizing something is coming for you, then swinging it with perfect timing.
The enemies are all balls (“meteors”?) that fall from the sky, and you have to swing them back into the atmosphere every time.
There is something here, just need to figure it out …
(Maybe your actual characters—the ones swinging the bats—move around the field semi-randomly? Or maybe just in a circle between the different “bases”?)
