You’re trying NOT to fall off.
It’s a One Button Game: play with multiple people behind the same screen, each person has only one button.
Holding your button will make you hold onto the string (or another bird?), but you have very limited grip strength/duration.
Pressing your button will make you do a little hop in whatever direction you’re facing/leaning.
What does “falling off” mean in a 2D side-view?
- Maybe it just means going off-screen (at the top), or falling off the sides (extreme points of the rope).
- The swinging of the rope, its elasticity, hitting you, will generate massive forces that will dislocate you over time.
