I once had this idea of a slot machine game, but as a One Button Game, perhaps for my educational online store.
This was inspired by seeing this game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3631290/Slots__Daggers/
However, the more I thought about it, the less it made sense for my specific purposes.
- Yes, it is “one button” to stop the slot machine. But it’s basically random—it’s not the point of such games.
- The point is that the randomness from the slot machine decides your next strategic actions/moves or what you can buy in the tech tree or whatever.
- That entire point would be gone in a simplified OBG or educational game (about probability/matching) …
So what would be left? “Press your button to stop the slot machine. Score based on whatever your random result is. Repeat.” Not that interesting or educational, is it?
