A local multiplayer party game where you fight as a spaceship in a tiny randomly generated universe.
Not sure if this should be 2D or 3D.
Map? A bunch of random planets in empty space.
Goal? Destroy all other spaceships. (Add some secondary “peaceful” goal?)
How? You can rotate your spaceship and thrust in your forward direction.
What’s fun/new?
- Gravity attracts you towards planets all the time: use that for slingshot actions and just fun stuff
- Similarly, gravity attracts your bullets/lasers/projectiles towards planets
- The planets itself could have some function, some buildings, some resources. (Such as: launching from a specific planet gives you an extra boost in speed, like being fired from a cannon.)
- Different spaceships have different elements. (More guns, guns at the back, etc)
In general, this is just really thematic and easy to explain/play. (Everyone understands how a rocket works, you only rotate and thrust forward, and shoot at stuff. Also, gravity leads to interesting situations, while most people understand how that works.)
(Spaeshbettul is what I imagine a toddler sounds like while trying to say Space Battle.)
