What’s the idea?
Simplified soccer, but with everything exactly opposite from what you’d expect.
I think it’s best to incorporate this via big modifiers: each game, one or two of these are shown which will change a major rule for the rest of the game.
Ideas:
- The slower the ball goes in, the more points you get for the goal.
- Goals only count if the opponent touches the ball last.
- If the ball hits you, you fly away (instead of the ball)
- The team with the least points wins this round!
Maybe all movement is in reverse by default?
And the button does something all the time, unless when you press/hold it.
Or we can make this even more general: apply some of these rules for the whole game.
- You want to score the least points
- The ball is automatically attracted to the closest goal, so you’re basically trying to protect the opponent’s goal.
- But … this would just mean the same game as soccer, but you’re being confused about colors. How to actually make this work?
Could it be that teams have a special power? Team A has a power, team B has the power opposite to that?
- Example: team A walks super fast (so fast it’s hard to control), team B walks super slowly
- Example: when team A hits the ball soft, it goes absolutely flying. When team B hits the ball hard, it only moves softly.
- Example: team A can only hit balls with curve, team B can only hit straight shots
- Example: team A can only move vertically, team B only horizontally. (The other directions are for jumping/something else?)
And these might then switch every round, or even during rounds, as well.
GREAT IDEA: You don’t try to get the ball into the goal … you try to get the goal around the ball. (So you really have limited influence on the ball itself. But you can push and pull the goals around.)
